Monaco is the second smallest country in the world (The Vatican is the smallest). We were amazed at the cleanliness, safety, and beauty of this tiny city state. But I guess when you have the highest per capita income of any country, you can afford to keep this place clean and safe!
The country is ruled by Prince Albert II, and this is his castle. Notice the flag is flying, which means he was home during our visit. No word on whether or not his three illegitimate children were home.
At first I was confused at all of the Polish flags flying around the city, then I realized the Monegasque flag is a flipped version of the Polish flag (or the other way around).
The Monaco Grand Prix and Rally are two prestigious races that occur in the city.
Of course, the Monte Carlo casino is a MUST see. You are not allowed to take pictures inside, but it is very nice. There is an area for the common folk to gamble and there is also an area that has a dress code and entry fee.
This is what happened when DJB tried to enter that area: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qkqki5wLZW0
In front of the casino, you'll see some of the world's nicest cars.
We pulled up in this.
After a long day of touring the city, we relaxed with a glass of Rosé while looking out at the harbor full of million dollar yachts.
